Tumut Regional Chamber of Commerce Executive Team
Lorraine is our grounding when it comes to sticking to our guns and moving forward on what we stand for and believe in. Lorraine is one of the reasons this Chamber exists as she was part of the initial working party that bought the chamber to where it is today.
Lorraine held the President position for the first 18 months during the Chamber's infancy and still plays an active role in mentoring and supporting the current President, and being highly active with projects such as the Tumut Regional bags promotion.
Raechel joined the Chamber in 2013, quickly taking on the position of Vice President. In November 2014 Raechel took on the position of President which she remained in until October 2016 when she returned to the Vice President position. . Raechel has assisted with the running of our many of our events, was actively involved in the running of the 2015 Snowy Hydro Tumut Region Business Awards, and is currently involved in the preparations for the 2017 Snowy Hydro Tumut Region Business Awards. .
Raechel joined the chamber after becoming self employed in 2013 to get a better opportunity to network with other professional and become more involved with activities around the local community. Raechels background is in financial planning and she brings with her a drive and keen attitude to get more involved locally.
Treasurer and Public Officer
Being involved in the TRCC has given Gail a great opportunity to meet other business owners and also to take advantage of the network functions and presentations and to hear about their experiences in running a local business.
Gail was the workhorse behind the scenes for the 2012 Snowy Hydro Business Awards managing the project with a few other helpers. Again in 2015, Gail was a very active member of the small committee who organised the 2015 Snowy Hydro Business Awards. Currently Gail is part of the committee for the 2017 Snowy Hydro Tumut Region Business award.
Gail’s background in bookkeeping has been a welcome addition to the Chamber and provides her an opportunity to showcase her natural ability by being our Treasurer.
In 2013, Deirdre became the project officer for TRCC. She has been involved with the events run and initiatives of the TRCC since she commenced. Deirdre was the driving force behind the introduction of the Tumut Region Gift Cards in 2015.
In 2016 Deirdre started her own bookkeeping business and became a member of TRCC, and has now taken on the roll of the Secretary in addition to her Project Officer Position.
Virginia moved to Tumut in 1985 to establish a restaurant with her partner. She has been self-employed for the last 28 years in a variety of businesses mainly retail, hospitality and tourism, and has gained a wide range of experience in these areas.
Virginia's main passion lies with the growth and prosperity of local retail and tourism. She believes strongly and feels we live in a unique shire and would like to support these sectors and make a difference.
Virginia is our creative voice and flare, co-ordinating most of our retail promotions and is the light behind the Lantern on the Lagoon festival that is being held in September.
Virginia is also involved with the decorations and layout of the venue for the Business Awards.
